From Kumamoto to Toronto:
A Journey Shaped by Music and Empathy
Born in Kumamoto, Japan, Chihiro’s musical odyssey was influenced by her classical piano roots and traditional Japanese taiko drumming. Growing up in a musically enriched environment and witnessing her father’s voluntary work with disabled individuals for over two decades her empathetic approach to life and music was shaped. This profound connection to empathy and harmony is the cornerstone of her compositions, striving to create a world united and uplifted by the universal language of music.
Since relocating to Toronto in 2013, Chihiro has become an integral part of the city’s dynamic music scene. Her commitment to a full-time music career is complemented by mentorships from esteemed composers like Neil Parfitt and Adrian Ellis, and an intensive conducting workshop with Angel Velez and Conrad Pope. With a repertoire of over 120 songs across various genres, Chihiro infuses her classical training and passion for animation into a distinctive sound she fondly terms “classy-pop.”
Beyond the Notes:
A Voice of Hope, Courage, and Empathy
Chihiro's creative pursuits reach far beyond the realm of music. She is constantly delving into new pathways to convey narratives rich in hope, empathy, and understanding. Her diverse artistic endeavors stand as a powerful declaration of her steadfast dedication to fostering positive change through the arts.
